Salvatore Miliziano

Professor Miliziano was born in 1961. On graduating in Civil Engineering at the Palermo University in 1985, he got his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering at La Sapienza University of Rome in 1992.
Since 2003 he is Professor of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering at La Sapienza University of Rome.

His scientific activity has been focused on the study of underground excavations and tunnelling in urban environment, of thermo-mechanical behaviour of clayey soils and of constitutive modelling of soil behaviour. He has published numerous papers for national and international journals and symposiums.

As a chartered engineer and as Technical Director of DMS, Professor Miliziano has been responsible of numerous projects for consulting firms, contractors and public authorities. He developed a large experience in several fields of geotechnical engineering, especially in tunnelling, excavation in urban areas and deep foundations.
